Protecting Your Skin
No matter how well you take care of your skin, if you don’t wear a sunscreen every day during the summer then you counteract everything you’ve worked towards. Too much sun exposure causes aging long before your time, creating wrinkles, age spots, tough skin and loss of elasticity and firmness (not to mention the possibility of skin cancer!)

And we’re not just talking about suntanning at the beach. Almost all of the sun exposure you get is during your daily routine: walking to and from your car, getting the mail or sitting in your room (UVA rays can actually pass through glass).

At the Carney Center we carry many sunscreens, all of which contain zinc oxide which is one of the best UVA protectors on the market today.

Several other skin care options are available at The Carney Center including a variety of chemical peels and other therapies for the treatment of fine lines, acne scars and wrinkles.

Contact Peggy O’Neill, LPN, or Johnna Young, skin care coordinators at The Carney Center, to learn more about these exciting breakthroughs and determine the best course of treatment for you.
