Botox
Botox, a prescription drug made from a toxin and was initially used clinically for the treatment of neurological disorders such as migraines. The Food and Drug Administration has now approved its use for cosmetic purposes.
Available by prescription only, this popular drug offers a safe and effective way to reduce and smooth facial lines by paralyzing or weakening the muscles that cause frowning.
Studies revealed that after 30 days use, the severity of the frown lines in patients injected with Botox was reduced for up to 120 days. The FDA recommends that Botox only be injected once every three months, using the lowest effective dosage.
When making the decision to have Botox treatments, experience is the key word to remember. Patients at The Carney Center can rest assured that Dr. Carney is not only highly qualified to perform the procedure but has the experience of many years with this drug to ensure successful results.
